چکیده

This pre-post study examined sex-differences in peak aerobic power (V?O 2peak ) and physical- mental-health outcomes adults with cardiovascular disease who completed high-intensity interval training (HIIT)-based cardiac rehabilitation. HIIT consisted of 25 minutes alternating higher- (4×4 85–95% heart rate (HR )) lower- (3×3 60–70% HR intensity intervals twice weekly for 10 weeks. V?O estimated from a graded exercise test using the American College Sports Medicine equation, body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, blood pressure, biomarkers anxiety depression were assessed at baseline follow-up. Linear mixed-effects models repeated measures performed to examine differences over time between sexes. Of 140 participants (mean ± standard deviation: 58 9 years), 40 female. Improvements did not differ sexes (interaction: p = 0.273, females: 28.4 6.4 30.9 7.6; males: 34.3 6.3 37.4 6.0 mL/kg/min). None by sex interactions significant. Significant main effects showed reductions triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), total cholesterol (TC)/high-density (HDL) anxiety, increases HDL revealed smaller , BMI higher LDL, TC females than males. led similar improvements (females: 8.8%, 9.0%) additional health Novelty: HIIT-based rehabilitation other physical mental The number sessions attended was high (>70%) sex. Both good compliance protocol target).

High-intensity interval training in cardiac rehabilitation.

High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is frequently used in sports training. The effects on cardiorespiratory and muscle systems have led scientists to consider its application in the field of cardiovascular diseases. The objective of this review is to report the effects and interest of HIIT in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) and heart failure (HF), as well as in persons with high...

Alteration in cardiac uncoupling proteins and eNOS gene expression following high-intensity interval training in favor of increasing mechanical efficiency

Objective(s):High-intensity interval training (HIIT) increases energy expenditure and mechanical energy efficiency. Although both uncoupling proteins (UCPs) and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) affect the mechanical efficiency and antioxidant capacity, their effects are inverse. The aim of this study was to determine whether the alterations of cardiac UCP2, UCP3, and eNOS mRNA expressio...

Health Promotion in Cardiac Rehabilitation Patients through the Use of a High-Intensity Interval Training Protocol

According to the American Heart Association’s (AHA) recent statistical update, over 2150 Americans die each day from cardiovascular disease (CVD), which equals approximately 1 death every 40 seconds; many of which were under the age of 65 years old [1]. In 2009, 386,324 people, 1 in 6 Americans, died as a result of coronary artery disease (CAD) alone [1]. They also estimate 150,000 people have ...

High-intensity physical training in adults with asthma. A 10-week rehabilitation program.

Twenty-six adults (23 to 58 years) with mild to moderate asthma underwent a 10-week supervised rehabilitation program, with emphasis on physical training. In the first 2 weeks, they exercised daily in an indoor swimming pool (33 degrees C) and received education about asthma, medication, and principles of physical training. In the following 8 weeks, they exercised in the pool twice a week. Ever...
